Cracow Philharmonic String Quartet was founded in 2008 by young talented artists sharing passion for chamber music. Since then they have become main string quartet of Cracow origin and have played numerous concerts not only in Poland but also Germany, France, Italy and San Marino. Quartet receives frequent invitations from city and region authorities and cultural centers - to name only International Culture Center, Jewish Cultural Center in Cracow or National Music and Dance Institute in Warsaw.
Musicians repertoire contains all major string quartets from across the centuries and periods from classicism to the post-romantics but they also enjoy performing contemporary music, especially by polish composers. Their enthusiasm for new music has resulted in a piece dedicated expressly to Cracow Philharmonic String Quartet: "Quartetto no. 2" by Massimiliano Messieri. Musicians' special delight is artistic cooperation with world-famous Edin Karamazov, with whom quartet appeared on stage of Cracow Philharmonic Hall in 2011 and tours Balkans in 2012. Recent engagements of the quartet include also: MASK Festival in San Marino 2011, Mantica Festival in Forli 2011, invitation to Forfest Festival in Kromeriz in 2012.
